Hi, Team!

January is almost over. This month, we had some pretty big updates for Duit.

Duit: AI Task Breakdown

When you’re faced with a vague task like “deep clean the house,” sometimes you don’t know where to start. So we made a feature where AI breaks it down for you. Honestly, we made this because we didn’t want to think too hard.

Let us show you how we’ve been using it.

Developer: Learning Russian

I’m planning a trip to Kazakhstan this summer, and I thought it’d be good to know at least a little Russian. But I had no idea where to start, so I typed in “Learn basic Russian.”

Russian learning todos generated by Duit AI

The results were pretty specific. Things like “Memorize 10 easiest words: Start the ‘Beginner Russian’ course on Memrise and complete 10 word review cards today.” It even recommended apps like Duolingo and Memrise, plus YouTube channels. I’m actually using those apps to study now.

Designer: Filing Taxes

Our designer used it when filing VAT returns earlier this year, and was surprised by how detailed it was. It’s not that complicated once you do it, but at first you don’t even know what to prepare. It was useful in that situation.

By the way, the AI feature uses different models for free and premium users. Free users get Groq API, premium users get Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite. Since we need to test both, we alternate between the two models, and it’s actually fun to see different responses for the same request 😉

Reorder Feature Added

This was a feature that users had been requesting in app reviews for a while. We got quite a bit of feedback saying “I want to change the order of my todos.” We finally added it. Now you can drag and drop to freely reorder your tasks.

cancan Update

cancan, the habit tracker we launched in December—honestly, the download numbers aren’t great. But we both use it every day. That was the goal in the first place, so we’re satisfied with that.

If you’re looking for a simple habit tracker, give it a download!

February Preview

At Praxo Studio, we develop “apps that we actually use ourselves.”

This time, we each have different apps we want to make, so we’re planning separately:

  • Designer: Wedding planning app (because she needs it right now)
  • Developer: Markdown note app (want to build the app I use every day)

We’re still in the planning stage so we don’t know when they’ll be ready, but we’ll share updates as we go.

See you in February!
