Back to Basics: Why We Stopped Building a Platform and Returned to Tool Apps
Hi team!
Did everyone have a good summer vacation?
I went to Mongolia for about a week.🐫

Traveling really helps clear your mind.
The magic of being so cold at night that work doesn't cross your mind at all...😂🥶
While developing a platform,
Before the trip, Praxo Studio was developing a social platform as a new project.
Platform development was fun, I’ll admit.
I got to implement basic features of apps I use daily with my own hands. (Likes, search, etc.)
Not just feature development—performance optimization was really fun too.
Is this right?
While developing so hard, at some point, I started thinking ‘But is this right?’
I think anyone who’s started a business has had this worry at least once.
Platforms are services that only make sense when people gather, so I kept wondering ‘who’s going to use this?’ even while developing.
Honestly, I think we decided to build a platform because it looked impressive.
We thought, ‘Isn’t just making a todo app too small?’ and wanted to try something bigger.
But once we actually started building, we realized what we really love is simple and clear tools.
A small app I use every day resonated more than complex social features.
Above all, our team name ‘Praxo’ means ‘tool’.🛠️
STOP!!!!
Praxo Studio holds offline meetings about once every two weeks.
Every time, we eat paninis and cheer each other on while discussing schedules, but this time we decided to stop the project.
It might be a bit anticlimactic, but it was a time to reaffirm our original purpose.😭
So what’s next,
We’re making simple tools again!
We’re moving forward slowly but steadily.
Onwards, to the day we escape our day jobs!!!
